Property Details

Casa Playa is a spectacular beach front vacation home on PEI's south shore overlooking the Northumberland Strait. Watch magnificent sunsets from the comfort of the large outdoor deck or the indoor living area. Enjoy the miles of sandy, secluded beaches that are great for swimming and beach combing.

The combined living, kitchen and dining area looks out to the large yard and waterfront. With vaulted ceilings, massive stone fireplace and wood throughout the living area gives a country feel in a beautiful environment. The kitchen has all the comforts of home, including dishwasher, and an island with seating. There is also wireless internet and a large flat screen TV.

Up the wooded spiral staircase is a small loft area looking out toward the water with a games table and treadmill. Through the loft area is the large master bedroom with king size bed and master bathroom with huge jetted soaker tub, walk-in glass shower and double sinks. Back on the main level there is another full bathroom with laundry and 3 bedrooms. The 2nd bedroom has a queen size bed and the 3rd and 4th bedrooms both have single over double bunk beds.

Outside there is lots to do as well. Lounge and dine on the sundeck, or relax on the covered porch. Roast marshmallows around the outdoor fire pit or head to the beach for a swim, a walk or treasure hunt for sea glass. There is also lots of room for the kids to run in the huge yard.

We are located in Victoria West, less than an hour’s drive from Confederation Bridge. We are an hour and fifteen minutes to Charlottetown and the International Airport. Our location on the North Cape Coastal Drive gives you a wonderful starting point to explore in all directions. Abrams Village, the musical showpiece of The Evangeline Region of PEI, offers daily programs of musical instruction, concerts, and shows. Further south, you can explore the West Point Lighthouse and beautiful harbour. Walk for miles along the sandy beach. For more beach combing, try Cedar Dunes Provincial Park. Who can resist a visit to the Potato Museum in O’Leary or the fascinating display of traditional basket weaving at the Island Traditions handicraft store near Richmond. Follow the North Cape Drive up to the Stompin’ Tom Centre Skinner’s Pond, where you can enjoy dinner and a show. Your northern destination will be the North Cape Lighthouse. Explore the wind farm and venture down the hiking trail that weaves its way along the bluffs.

Casa Playa is a perfect location for family and friends to vacation in PEI.
All the comforts of home are here, with lots of activities and privacy in a stunningly beautiful environment.

Great for Families

Great for families. Peaceful, serene, beautiful sunsets and space for everyone
Our family of 4 has taken two vacations to Casa Playa in Tyne Valley over the last 2 years, we absolutely love it there. The 4 bedroom, 2 bath house sits on a large property overlooking the Egmont Bay. Because the property faces South-West you get these absolutely stunning sunsets; the water reaches right to the horizon meaning the sun touches the water in the late summer. The house itself is fully stocked with everything you would need. Towels, extra sheets and blankets. Our kids love the big shower and Jacuzzi tub upstairs. The property itself is the last house at the end of a private road. There is an automatic gate that opens up when you punch in the code, and then you drive along a long winding driveway through a grove of sugar maples to get to the house. The driveway is lined with old timey looking lamps that come on automatically and light up the forest at night, which is just beautiful. On a couple of nights we turned off the lights (switch at the side of the house by the hose) and we were able to see the milky way, just gorgeous! The beach at the property is accessible with a set of wooden stairs, and although a bit rocky right in front of the property all you have to do is walk out a few metres to get to the red sandy bay. The bay itself is quite shallow, especially at low tide. We've been able to walk out to our knees for what seemed like a km at low tide. There is all kinds of interesting wildlife on and around the property too. We harvested mussels from the rocky part of the beach and made fresh seafood pasta with a local chardonnay wine sauce one night, so fresh and delicious! The kids also really like the ginormous sandpit on the property for building sandcastles, and the shed has some scooters and bikes that are great for going up and down the long drive way. The kitchen and living room of the property is fully equipped with everything you need, full size fridge, electric range/oven. We love the open concept of it too, there's a flatscreen TV, a gas fireplace and large windows overlooking the bay. BBQ was new and clean, we had no problems grilling up our favourite foods. Closest city to stock up on amenities is Summerside, about 30 minutes away, but it's right off the bridge if you come that way so we always visit the grocery stores and beer/liquor store on our way in. Be sure to stop by the farmer stands on the way to the property too, nothing like fresh PEI blueberries and corn at the end of August.

Perfect Peaceful Family Getaway!

We stayed at Casa Playa the last week in August and it was the perfect end to our summer! The house & property itself was everything we could have hoped for & more! Breathtaking sunsets, large private beach & property. The house is equipped with everything we could have needed and more (bedding, towels, internet, satellite TV, treadmill, BBQ) . We enjoyed BBQs on the deck, fires daily/nightly making smores with the kids in the awesome fire pit, the kids played in the large sandbox (lots of sand/beach toys) and ocean (make sure to have your water shoes as this is the East Coast, lots of seashells!). They had a blast collecting shells, crabs, beach glass right outside our door. It's off the beaten path but still so close to town should you need to grab groceries, wine, beer or go antiquing! Easy to get to, beautiful views, quiet, house is fully stocked. Can't say enough about this beautiful property. Have been recommending to all our family and friends. We cannot wait to return for many years to come! Thank you again to Dean and the owners. We will be back!
